I hereby acknowledge and confirm that I am voluntarily participating in an event that includes physical activities such as running and cold water immersion (cold plunging). I understand and accept that these activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to physical exertion, slips, falls, dehydration, injury, exposure to cold temperatures, hypothermia, cold shock response, and other potential medical complications.
I confirm that I am in good physical health, sufficiently prepared, and have no known medical conditions or restrictions that would make it unsafe for me to take part in either the run or the cold plunge. I undertake to consult with a medical professional prior to participation if I have any doubt about my health or fitness.
I acknowledge that I am participating entirely at my own risk and voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injury, illness, damage, loss, or harm that I may suffer as a result of my participation in this event. I hereby indemnify, release, and hold harmless the event organisers, sponsors, affiliates, volunteers, staff, agents, venue owners, and any associated third parties ("the Indemnified Parties") from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses, whether arising in delict, contract, or otherwise, including but not limited to those caused by negligence, arising out of or in connection with my participation in the event, except to the extent that such liability arises directly from gross negligence on the part of the Indemnified Parties.
I understand and accept that I will be personally responsible for any and all medical or emergency expenses incurred as a result of my participation in the event.
I hereby also grant the event organisers and their authorised representatives the irrevocable right to capture, use, publish, and distribute photographs, video recordings, and other media taken of me during the event, for promotional, marketing, and informational purposes, in print, digital, or broadcast formats. I waive any right to inspect or approve the final product and understand that I will not receive any compensation for the use of such materials.
